Hi, I’m Laura
I’m an English speaking wedding and events planner based near Bordeaux, France . I have been in the hospitality industry over 20 years, since before university and I love it! Why? Simply put, because I love working with people. And whilst I have worked with celebrities and royalty, in the corporate, public and private sectors, my favourite people are people like you… couples who have two unique stories that have become entwined into one, that you want to share with the people in your lives who mean the most to you.
I realised a long time ago, when you could only marry in the registry office or church and have your reception in a hotel or village hall (now I do sound old, but it wasn’t that long ago!) that you lose something when a wedding conforms to a given format, and that something is identity. Whilst uniforms, SOPs and daily schedules create order in the workplace – and I am not saying my own business doesn’t have them – your private lives are when you get to truly express yourselves, do what you like, how you like, because the reality is we are all different and there is no more an important occasion to express who we are, than a life event.
So, this is the basis upon which I love to work: throw the rule book and preconceived ideas out of the window, start every event from a blank canvas, and question everything. This is also why our motto for the last 10 years has been… “Your Day, Your Way”.
None of my weddings are the same, in fact the only thing that they have in common is that every couple wanted to do something different, and I was more than happy to oblige. As a result, I know couples and suppliers both agree that we create fabulous and unique events unlike anyone else. Meet your team
Victoria
New to the team is Victoria, our Planning Co-Ordinator. Fluent in French and English Victoria manages the office and planning administration. Thankfully she loves paperwork and will be co-ordinating the correspondence between you, your suppliers, me and our team. Efficient, a stickler for detail and processes you will be in good hands when I am out of the office.
Pascale
Pascale is our Events Co-Ordinator and has been part of the French Wedding Company team for the past 3 years. She started out in the office and she has a full understanding of our systems and what it takes to plan an event. Pascale has now moved Front of House and is my number two at events, managing the evenings. She also manages smaller events on her own.
Pascale is loved by everyone, always has a smile on her face and nothing is too much trouble. Her professional attitude and can do approach is exactly what you need to keep yourself and guests relaxed and enjoying the celebrations.
Operations Team
Events don’t run smoothly on their own! They take a dedicated team of professional suppliers and staff to deliver a seamless, efficient and enjoyable experience for both you and your guests.
All French Wedding Company events include various members of our English speaking Operations Team that include porters, bar staff, cleaners and hostesses. They are there to ensure that you and your guests are looked after in a friendly and professional manner from beginning to end. Having our team as part of your event creates continuity over the days and the relaxed and familiar atmosphere that our clients are looking for.
