4 Days of French Flair

There were so many facets to Kimberley and Gareth’s 4-day wedding celebration it is difficult to know where to start. It was held at Chateau de la Cote near Brantome, a town that meant a lot to them.

It had to be fun and entertaining for the guests the whole way.  It also had to reflect their love of everything French and the colour scheme was to be sunflower yellow and bright blue (which had personal connotations for them).

Day 1 - Canoeing on the River Isle

We also arranged a picnic of cold meats, cheese, baguettes and local wines to be delivered to them half way.

Day 2- Welcome Dinner

An evening party was held at a restaurant on the river in Brantome where, with the help of our styling partner Jenny and her team, we transformed it into more of a bistro.  Long tables were set around the garden, rustic bar installed and they had a live band.  Kimberley even put in her first ever singing performance much to the surprise of Gareth, and she went down a storm.

Day 3 - Wedding Day

Whilst the ladies got pampered, the guys went for a round of golf as the day got hotter and hotter.  So much so that we had to make some last minute adjustments to timings to avoid everyone frying in the sun during the ceremony.

But as Kimberley walked down the aisle preceded by her two loves, other than Gareth – their French bulldogs – the heat was forgotten as the ceremony took place under the trees.

An extended afternoon cocktail reception followed and the entertainment didn’t stop.  Whether it was the groom and groomsmen dancing with the Can-Can dancers, fierce competition playing giant Jenga or listening to the sound of the electric string quartet, the afternoon slowly rolled into evening.

Dinner was hosted in the rustic stone barn where sunflowers decorated everywhere, bringing the sunshine indoors.

After the speeches, guests were invited to the outdoor stage to watch the first dance that, unbeknownst to them, had a grand finale of fireworks that started as Gareth lifted his bride into the air.  (I can tell you we were under pressure there to get the timings spot on… in the dark!)

The party continued into the night with a live band and Kimberley got the live performance bug and sung a few more songs.

Day 4 - Pool Party

A ‘relax and reminisce’ day with barbecue and a colourful country feel.  The DJ played some chill-out tunes and silly games were played in the pool.

A fabulous four days were had by all.

Congratulations Kimberley and Gareth
